Elizabeth (Liz) Keim - President of ASQ

Elizabeth Keim assumed the presidency of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) on July 1, 2002.  A member since 1990, Keim has held increasingly responsible positions in ASQ, including chair of the Denver Section, regional councilor, and national treasurer and vice president.  An expert in service quality management, Keim also served as chair of ASQ’s Service Quality Division.

Keim is currently managing partner at Integrated Quality Resources in Boulder, CO, where she works with clients worldwide on business results improvement through the integration of diverse methodologies such as the Malcolm Baldrige criteria, ISO 9000 quality systems standards, and the Six Sigma breakthrough methodology.  She is a Six Sigma Black Belt and Master Black Belt trained at GE Plastics and the Six Sigma Academy.  She holds a Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in accounting and finance from Regis University and a Bachelor of Science in computer science and mathematics from Colorado State University.  She is an ASQ Certified Quality Manager and Certified Quality Auditor.

During a 17-year career at IBM Global Services in technical and management positions, Keim was responsible for quality program strategy, development, and implementation.  Following that, she was the global commercial quality leader at GE Plastics, where she was responsible for worldwide implementation of Six Sigma methodology in the company’s non-manufacturing processes.

Keim is the author of numerous articles on service quality, strategic quality planning, and Six Sigma implementation.  She is a member of the American Management Association and a founding member of the World Quality Council.
